Gearbox

A gearbox is a device or mechanical transmission that reduces the speed of rotation of the drive shaft, working spindle and other, while the speed of rotation of the drive machine or motor does not change.

It is installed between the engine and the working part of a machine, vehicle, etc. in order to adapt the speed of rotation of tools, drive wheels or other to the working conditions.

The transmission of power and motion in a gearbox is performed by the special shape of its parts (for example gears) or friction (for example a belt), and the gear ratio is greater than one.
